Teaching Assistant

Winchester School of Chinese Culture (WSCC), Winchester, MA
June 2023 - Present

Teaching Assistant supporting teachers and students in Chinese language and culture classes. Key responsibilities and contributions included:

  • Assisted lead teachers with preparation of instructional materials and worksheets.
  • Provided one-on-one and small-group tutoring to reinforce vocabulary, pronunciation, and reading comprehension.
  • Supported classroom activities and supported behavior management to maintain an organized, positive learning environment.
  • Monitored student progress through informal assessments and communicated observations to teachers to support individualized learning.
  • Helped in coordination of cultural activities and interactive exercises to increase student engagement and practical language use.

Worked 3-4 weeks during summer of 2023 and 2024. Helped after school every Friday for around 2 hours in the afternoon. Now planning to help for 3-4 weeks this summer (2026) too.

Received the President's Award (top 15% of year group) and ICT Commitment Award in 7th grade, followed by the Founder's Award (top 5% of year group) and Music Commitment Award in 8th grade. Qualified for a high school scholarship based on academic excellence and respectful daily actions, but declined the offer to transfer to Winchester High School for continued education.
